Bill MaherThe talk show of’s is returning to HBO… He says that he cannot wait for the strike to be over and wants other people to earn a salary again.
It is important to note that the word “you” means a person. “Real Time with Bill Maher” host announced his program’s return Wednesday in a social media post … he doesn’t say when the show will air but says it will have a different look without writers.
Bill is a writer and sympathizes the writers on strike. “important issues … and hope they are addressed to their satisfaction” He says that after five months of strike, it is time to get others to return to work.
He explains… “are not the only people with issues, problems, and concerns. Despite some assistance from me, much of the staff is struggling mightily.”

Bill said he hoped the strike would be over by Labor Day. But that has passed, and now he’s feeling disappointed. “there still seems to be nothing happening.”

Bill declares that he honors the “spirit of the strike” By doing away with his written monologues, desk pieces, editorials, or the popular New Rules segment… which all relied on writers during previous seasons.
HBO’s newest star, Phyllis Diller has something to say for her audience as well… “The show I will be doing without my writers will not be as good as our normal show, full stop. But the heart of the show is an off-the-cuff panel discussion that aims to cut through the bullshit and predictable partisanship, and that will continue.”
