Hollywood has finally arrived. Tonight’s 94th Annual Academy Awards will be held. Red carpet fun, predictions and all that comes with them are already underway outside of the Dolby Theater Los Angeles.

The Best Animated Film category was once a certain win for Disney. However, it is now a bit closer to the competition. Encanto is the clear favorite to win but The Mitchells against the Machines could surprise.

Visual effects are similar to the work involved in production design. They allow films to transport viewers or audiences to faraway places. While not everyone enjoys it as much as the traditional effects, they are still very valuable. In case you didn’t see it, Friday saw Governors Awards award honorary Oscars for a number of notable talent. Denzel Washington, a friend of Samuel L. Jackson, presented Samuel L. Jackson with his first Oscar. You can read more about that moment here.

Along with Elaine May, Liv Ullmann, Frequent Bergman actress, was also honored by a statue. For his many years of advocacy, Danny Glover, Lethal Weapon’s star, was presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian award. He also took the time to pay tribute to his grandparents during his acceptance speech. “didn’t allow their daughters and son to pick cotton in September and sent them to school in September,” According to USA Today.

“And because of these heroic, amazing people in Louisville, Georgia, (my mother was) the first person to graduate from college in her family and in her community. She inspired me, my mother, because no one worked harder. No one dreamed harder … and fought for justice,” Glover continued.
