A Netflix Press Release revealed that Henry Cavill himself helped design Geralt’s new armor, working with the show’s costume designer Lucinda Wright. Cavill spoke about how the new armor “has made it a lot easier for me to move and fight,” adding that he and Wright put a lot of effort into coming up with the new armor quickly.
The armor also has significance beyond simply providing a new look for Geralt. Cavill went on to speak about how this signifies the first time Geralt has opted to actually stay in one place for an extended period of time. Cavill pointed out how, due to constantly traveling, Geralt has never had the opportunity to either buy or make new armor, and him taking the time to look through the dungeons of Kaer Morhen, where he and Ciri (Freya Allen), are currently located, shows that Geralt is willing to at least stop for a while, long enough to find some armor and take the time to alter it to fit him.
Season 2 of “The Witcher” is set to release on Netflix on December 17, with Season 1 already available on the streaming platform.
