Vigil held for Tarzana dispensary burglary victim man

A Tarzana dispensary shooting victim’s family held a Tuesday night vigil to remember their loved one.

Brian Garcia (28 years old) was shot and killed during an armed robbery in a Ventura Boulevard marijuana dispensary.

Maria Harris, Garcia’s mother, said the pain of losing her son has been an unbearable nightmare.

“I’m lost. My family is destroyed and I’m incomplete,” Harris said.

Surveillance footage shows the robbers running frantically in and out the dispensary as well as down an alleyway.

Witnesses claimed that as many as six people were involved with the robbery, and that multiple shots were fired. Garcia was found inside the shop with multiple gunshot wounds. He was later declared dead at the scene.

Brian was a regular customer at the dispensary, where family and friends gathered Tuesday night to hold a candlelight Vigil. They prayed for Garcia’s healing and remembered Garcia.

“My son had a great heart. He loved his family, he loved his brother and sisters a lot. They meant everything to him, and he loved me a lot too,” Harris said.

His mother encouraged anyone with any information to contact her to bring justice to her son.

“They took my son, my baby away and it hurts so much. My whole family is just suffering right now.”

Anyone with information on the robbery/deadly shooting is asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department West Valley station at (818-374-7611).

Garcia’s family has started a GoFundMe pageContribute to funeral costs and other expenses.
