The Cause of Death for ‘Moonshiners Star Lance Waldroup Revealed

MoonshinersStar Lance Waldroup, who died in shock last year, triggered a flood of emotions from fans. According to TMZThe cause of Waldroup’s death shouldn’t surprise given his history of drug abuse and health problems. Officially, Waldroup’s death was caused by congestive heart disease. This was triggered by morbid obesity in the beginning and cardiomyopathy at the end.

Reality star Waldroup, 580 lbs, had a history with high blood pressure and suicidal thoughts. He was also a recovering opioid addict. Waldroup was found with Suboxone in his room, which confirmed his addiction to drugs. However, drugs did not cause his death. The autopsy revealed only past abuse as the cause.

He was the fan-favorite star on the series, along with his father Jeff and other stars of Discovery. According to reports, his problems were caused by the loss of his sister. TMZAt the time of his death, his family noted his struggle with “survivor’s guilt.”

“Growing up Lance was extremely close to his sister Lyndsey. Lyndsey loved to cook and Lance loved to eat! His sister Lyndsey had Cystic Fibrosis and she passed away when she was 11 years old,”GoFundMe fundraising campaign to support Waldroup’s funeral read. “Lance was also close to his brother Lamar and they did everything together. His brother Lamar also had Cystic Fibrosis and had to have a lung transplant. Lamar lived for 1 1/2 years with the lung transplant and did pass away when he was 20 years old.”

The GoFundMe for Waldroup and his familyIt was able to reach its $15,000 goal with a little more help from 349 donors. The memorial fund’s goal was described by the author as an attempt to “give back”Waldroup’s loved ones for their support in the past. It was also an attempt to cover funeral costs at that time. “We are looking to help raise as much money as possible in the next few weeks to be able to present to the family for a proper burial.
