John Metchie IIILeukemia has been diagnosed in Houston Texans second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He will likely miss the entire 2018 season to fight the disease.
The news was announced by the 22-year-old on Sunday. Doctors are incredibly happy to have it described as “the most curable form of Leukemia.”
“I am currently receiving great medical care, am in good spirits and I expect to make a recovery at a later point in time,”Metchie III was added.
The receiver — who played a major role in Nick SabanHe was a Crimson Tide player for the past two seasons, and he said that he will probably have to miss his rookie season because he is still recovering.
“My main focus will be on my health and recovery,”He stated. “Thank you in advance for your support and well-wishes. I cannot wait to come back stronger than ever. God bless.”
Metchie III — who accumulated 2,081 receiving yardage and 14 touchdowns in the two previous years at Alabama — was expected be a key contributor to the Texans’ success after being selected with No. 44th overall selection in April.
