Son of Rapper DJ Quik Who Works as Compton Council Liaison Booked on Suspicion of Murder – Los Angeles

Authorities confirmed that the Downey Police Department detectives have arrested and booked Isaac Galvan’s son on suspicion of murder.

Friday morning’s NBCLA I-Team received word that David M. Blake Jr. was being held in Porter Ranch in lieu of $2,000,000 bail.

Blake Jr. is a photographer. “council liaison”According to pay and City records, Galvan was the son of LA-based rapper DJ Quik.

According to Downey PD statements, Blake Jr. has been identified as a murder suspect following a fight on Wednesday afternoon at Carfax Avenue in which a man named Julio Cardoza, 33, was shot and killed.

Galvan could not reach Galvan for comment Friday.

Compton officials referred inquiries to law enforcement and made a brief emailed statement. “the City is shocked to learn about this incident.”

Galvan was serving as a Councilman when he was arrested by the LA County District Attorney’s Office for conspiracy to commit fraud and bribery to influence an electoral election. This was after prosecutors said that he had obtained fraudulent votes during a June 2021 runoff election which was decided by one vote.

Galvan is accused of trying to bribe a County Registrar-Record worker while she was counting ballots on Election Night.

In 2020, FBI agents served a search warrant on Galvan’s apartment at the same time agents served search warrants at Baldwin Park’s office of an attorney. This was in relation to a marijuana-related case that law enforcement sources confirmed.

Galvan denied the election allegations. He referred questions regarding FBI searches to his attorney. The FBI search results were not returned to him at the time of raids.
