Santa Ana police are investigating two late-night stabbings

After two Santa Ana residents were stabbed on Friday night, an investigation is under way.

Santa Ana police responded around 11:40 to a call from the 1600 block E. Palm Street. There they found a 19year-old victim who had been stabbed in both his upper and lower torsos. According to police, he was taken to the hospital with a critical condition.

Officers were at the scene of the stabbing and another victim was found at 300 N. Wright Street, just a short walk from the original crime scene.

Police found a minor boy with multiple stab wounds on his upper body at the second crime scene. Paramedics treated the juvenile and he was then taken to the hospital, where he was last seen in stable condition.

Police received word that the victim, a 19-year-old male, had died of his injuries just before 1 AM Saturday morning.

The man’s name has not yet been released.

Police are currently investigating the stabbings. They are actively seeking witnesses.

Both stabbings are believed to be gang-related but it’s unclear at this time if they are related, police said.
