Rosemary Margaret Hobor’s Children and Late Dad John Candy Shared In-Depth

Rosemary Margaret Hobor was never able to love again her husband John Candy. After John Candy’s death, Rosemary Margaret Hobor raised her children alone and now lives happily as a widow.

John Candy, a comedian and actor from Canada, had a successful Hollywood career which inspired many others in the showbiz including Ryan Reynolds.

A recent interview with “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,”Reynolds said that Reynolds was his “Deadpool”Films paid homage to Candy by using a book. “The Canadian Mounted,”In his film, the actor who died in 2006 read. “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.”

“Growing up, I had a real obsession, quite generally, with John Candy, and I still do,” Reynolds . “If I’m flummoxed in a scene, or I can’t figure out a way in, I will just copy them.”John was a star in the ’70s and died from heart failure in 1994.


John left behind Jennifer and Chris, who he shared with Rosemary Margaret Hobor, his wife. According to his children’s accounts, they met on a blind date. They immediately fell in love. John asked Rosemary later to help him write a script.

John and his wife have many fond memories. But John’s children also recall the painful times. Chris, John’s son, was nine years old when the actor died. He still remembers the last conversation with John. Chris :

“I remember talking to him the night before he passed away, and he said, ‘I love you and goodnight.’ And I will always remember that.”

Jennifer also recalled the day her father died. She had just celebrated 14th birthday together with her dad and was calling him to study for a vocabulary exam. “I was like, ‘Yeah, okay, I love you. I will talk to you later. Have a great night.’ Then I hang up, and I go back to studying,”She Narrated.

John’s children will always remember him because of his kindness towards animals and his generosity. He enjoyed bringing animals home from shelters. Rosemary was allergic cats and dogs but she was supportive. Jennifer :

“We had four Clydesdales: Peaches and Cream, Uncle Buck, and Harry Crumb. We had cows. The farm, for him, was creating something where he could just go and escape and not be bothered, and be with his family.”

Chris and Jennifer still pay even though it has been many years since his death. TributeTheir father on social media and they note how much the actor has meant to them. 

Jennifer is now a grownup and has a family, including Finley. Chris, on the other hand found himself in the entertainment business like his father. John is not there to witness the children’s growth, but his mom can share happy memories.


Rosemary was born August 20, 1949. She shared a love for the creative arts with her husband. After graduating from the Ontario College of Art and Design University she went on to pursue a career in ceramics, painting, and crafting.

Her pottery products include vases, plates and pots as well as abstract paintings. She is also involved in charitable organizations like Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and others.

Rosemary devoted all her energy and time to raising their children after John passed away. Rosemary has never been in a relationship with a man since then and is a widow.
