Police continue to investigate the death of a Malibu guard in a parking lot.

As the investigation continues into what happened, police have identified the body of a security guard found dead in a Malibu parking garage.

Inge Baumbach was discovered after deputies responded to the 30000 block of Pacific Coast Highway about 7:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A local employee reported that he saw a man lying in his bloody grave. Baumbach was declared deceased on the spot.

Although he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities believe he died from blunt force trauma to the upper torso. However, it is still unclear what caused his death.

The investigation begins earlyofficials indicated Baumbach was possibly attacked, but there was no weapon found on the scene.

Baumbach was wearing an official security uniform and was said to have been working at the site overnight. According to records from Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, he had reached 58 years old on Monday.

The Sheriff’s Department’s homicide bureau has taken over the investigation.

“We are confident this is an isolated incident, and our Malibu residents and the community are safe,”Officials at Lost Hills station said that in update Wednesday.
