Phil Salt and Michael Pepper are matched in a delicious T20 Blast tie

On Friday, Phil Salt and Michael Pepper caused a stir online when they helped each other to lose during Vitality Blast quarterfinal clash between Essex and Lancashire.

Pepper was making good progress at Old Trafford when Essex batted first.

However, the 24-year-old’s swing and a miss was gobbled up by Lancashire wicketkeeper Salt, who whipped the bails off to dismiss the Eagles batter.

Essex scored 161 runs in five innings. While the chase was comfortable for Lancashire, Pepper took revenge with some superb fielding.

Pepper made a powerful sweep to the boundary of the England batter and was caught. He hurled it to Ben Allison, before crossing the boundary rope. Salt was then dismissed for 27.

Lightning didn’t let the dismissal get them off track. They made quick work of their opponents and chased down 162 with less than four overs left.

Lancashire will compete for the trophy at Edgbaston Finals Day on July 16th, facing arch-rivals Yorkshire.
