Pasadena man arrested for car-to-car shooting

Monday saw the arrest of a man in connection to a Pasadena-to-car shooting that occurred last year.

The Pasadena Police Department released a press release stating that officers responded to a report of shots fired at the 1300 block Navarro Avenue on Aug. 31, 2021.

Police say that officers arrived at the scene to find evidence of a shooting, but that all the suspects had fled the scene.

Within minutes, the department was informed that a Altadena resident aged 42 had arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot injury. It was not life-threatening.

After conducting an investigation, detectives found a suspect linked to a local criminal street group and determined that the incident was car-to-car.

On March 24, authorities apprehended 29–year-old Michael Ellis Patillo of Ontario, police said.

Also, detectives executed a search warrant at an Ontario home. The operation and arrest resulted in the capture of two firearms as well as the vehicle used for the 2021 shooting.

On March 28, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony count of attempted murder against Patillo.

His bail was set at $1.2million.
