Officials Issue SigAlert on 5 Fwy Burbank



Officials said that SigAlerts were issued for the 5 Freeway in Burbank on Sunday night, after several people were injured in a traffic accident.

The crash was reported at about 10:20 p.m., according to Officer Kravig of the California Highway Patrol, and the SigAlert near the freeway’s intersection with West Alameda Avenue will remain in place until about 11:25, the CHP announced on Twitter.

Later, the SigAlert was updated to reflect that lanes Nos. Lanes Nos. 3 and 4 were reopened around 11:40 p.m. while lanes Nos. 1 and 2 would remain closed until the end of the 30 minute period. Twitter: CHP is now available.

The number of vehicles involved is unknown. However, the Burbank Fire Station stated that as many as eight people could have been hurt.
