New Study Links Parental Stress With Child’s Social Media Usage – Los Angeles

Many families became accustomed to working from home and attending school during the pandemic.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has published a new study that shows stressed parents are likely to have unhealthy children.

In late 2020, researchers looked at 1000 parents who had at least one child aged 6-17 years. Researchers found that at least one third of these children engaged in problematic media usage. They were also becoming dependent on their screens, which could lead to academic, behavioral, and social problems.

This survey shows that harmful use is more common when parents work full-time from home or are under stress.
