Motorcycle Officer Hurt in Freeway Hit-And-Run – Los Angeles

Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer was hurt in a hit and run collision on Thursday night’s southbound Harbor Freeway in South Los Angeles. Authorities were looking for a suspect vehicle.

According to the LAPD the crash that involved multiple vehicles occurred at 8:05 pm near Glenn Anderson Freeway. According to officers, the collision resulted in the officer being knocked from his motorcycle and possibly striking the freeway’s centre divider.

A second person was also hurt in the collision. The officer and the other person were both taken to hospital, but their conditions are not yet known.

Police were looking for a white BMW convertible, which was involved in the accident and fled the scene on the Harbor Freeway.

As authorities investigate the collision, all lanes of southbound Harbor Freeway were shut down for unknown duration. Traffic was diverted onto Glenn Anderson Freeway.
