Mom Breastfeeds her 5- and 6-Year-Old Boys Publicly. She says it’s normal

A mother in West Yorkshire said she felt closer to her boys, aged 5-6 years old, after she breastfed them daily prior to school and after coming home. 

When Sheryl Wynne was discovered online by netizens in 2021, they were horrified to learn that she believed breastfeeding her children was okay. 

According to the mother, 39 years old, she had good reasons for breastfeeding her children despite their age. They were able to be fed all night. 

SHE DIDN’T WANT TO STOP 

Wynne said she wanted her children to be involved in the decision and didn’t stop nursing them. In the beginning, Wynne had intended to stop nursing Riley, her older child. 

Riley said that he wouldn’t stop until he was 10 years old when she asked him about his decision. She said that her children were closer because she breastfed them. 

Wynne’s father Wynne said that he wanted Wynne to keep getting. “mommy milk”She was his mother until he was 10 years old. Submittedhim “there’s no chance.”

IT COFORTS HER CHILDREN

She admitted that she breastfed her children as a comfort tool. She stated that she was happy to be there for her children whenever they needed it. 

Wynne believed that it was acceptable to breastfeed her school-going kids. She didn’t care what society thought about her doing things she loved. She :

“They want to be with me and snuggle with me even when they aren’t breastfeeding.”

FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS OF HER WERE NOT HAPPY

According to her mother, strangers were more open to her decision than her family and friends. They believed she was not doing the right thing.

They also asked her for a halt and explained that her unusual habits had led to her children acting strangely. Wynne believed that her boys were acting well and ignored the advice from her family and friends. She :

“People think they’re experts in other people’s children, but I’m not doing it blindly even though I am following my instincts in many ways.”

SHE SOMETIMES TELLS THEM TO GET OFF

The mother admitted to telling her children to get away from her when she didn’t feel like feeding them. She said that she considers the choices of her children before making any decisions. Wynne Confessed:

“The choice isn’t just mine. It’s a relationship because it’s something we do together.”

Despite being challenged by people about her unusual decision, she will continue to breastfeed her children even if they ask her to.

SHE DOES IT PUBLICLY

Wynne is true to her word when she says that she gives her children food whenever they request it. She revealed that her mother proudly breastfed her children at school and in other public settings. 

Although she was initially uncomfortable breastfeeding her school-going kids in public, she decided to suppress her anxiety and do what her children asked. She RecalledHere’s how she did it at school:

“He took me to the bench and I had to dig deep into myself.”

SHE HAD A TRAUMATIC CHILD EXPERIENCE 

Wynne wasn’t happy giving birth to her children. Wynne felt like an outsider. “failure”She gave birth to her first child after she realized that she could not breastfeed him properly. 

She decided to breastfeed both her sons after the birth of Mylo, her younger son. She wanted to correct her mistakes as a first mother.

Although she was concerned about losing her supply after having her younger son, things improved when she had her son.

Wynne felt often overwhelmed after Mylo’s baby. “full of milk,”She would then ask Riley to breastfeed. She loved to breastfeed both her sons at once.

SHE WANTS TO FIND A NEW TREND

Many people around Wynne felt her unusual practice of breastfeeding her boys wasn’t right. They challenged her decision and tried their best to make her feel better, but she didn’t listen. DidWhat she loved. 

Wynne wanted to dispel myths and create a new trend in breastfeeding school-going children. It helped her strengthen her relationship with her sons. She felt society had put unnecessary timeframes on mothers.
