Man Sought in Pico Rivera Kidnapping Attempt – Los Angeles

Authorities are seeking help to locate a man who attempted to kidnap a Pico Rivera girl before a witness intervened.

The crime took place in the 9500 block Beverly Boulevard at Pico Park, southeast Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the girl was walking in the park after she had left school when the man grabbed her arm and pulled her. According to the sheriff’s office, another person helped the girl and the man fled.

“The suspect grabbed the victim’s arm and pulled her with him as he said she was not going anywhere,”The department stated this in a statement. “A good Samaritan at the park intervened and confronted the suspect. When the good Samaritan threated to call the police, the suspect let go of the victim and lunged forward in an attempt to grab the arm of another young child that was with the good Samaritan.”

A composite sketch was released by detectives (below) showing the suspect in the kidnapping. He is described at between 30 and 35 years of age, about 200 pounds and 6 feet tall. His hair was salt-and-pepper. Unshaven, he was wearing black sweatshirt, black pants and tattered sneakers.
