Man Gets 10 Years for Sex Trafficking a Minor – Los Angeles

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that a man who forced a teenager girl from Arizona to Los Angeles to become a prostitute was sentenced Thursday.

Jahque Williams (21 years old) was sentenced in Phoenix, Arizona, last week. Jahque Williams, 21, of Los Angeles, pleaded guilty previously to the federal charge of sex traficking of minors.

On July 23, 2020 the Human Trafficking Unit, Los Angeles Police Department, found the then-17 year-old girl at a Los Angeles hospital. It appeared that she had been physically assaulted.

The victim claimed that Williams invited her to a party in Phoenix and she had first met Williams four days before. She realized that it was a recruiting party when she attended the party.
She told investigators that she knew of commercial sex workers.

Williams took the girl and a female to Los Angeles. Williams told the girl that she would work for him. Federal prosecutors say that Williams also told her how much money she would bring home each night.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Arizona (USA), Williams made sure that the minor did not leave the car during the trip from Los Angeles. He activated the child lock and prevented him from getting out.
