Mama Tells Her Son She Died After Giving Birth. He is Hugged for the First time 41 Years Later

One man was shocked to discover the details he found while on a quest for his biological parents. He did not know that he was among the Chilean silent kids. 

Living with his two loving parents in the city of Tacoma, Washington, Travis Tolliver knew he was adopted. 

Tolliver’s adoptive mother and father took him in after he was abandoned. That’s at least what they were told.

At 4 p.m. on November 15, 1973, in Santiago, Chile, 19-year-old Nelly Reyes gave birth to a baby boy. Sadly, a few hours later, she All of it recollected

“Hours later, they told me he had died.”

When they wouldn’t allow her to see, the situation became bizarre. her newborn’s bodyShe is unable touch or hug her child goodbye.

This tragic inability to hold her son for one last time was healed in 2015 when the now 61-year-old embraced him at the airport. Travis Tolliver squeezed right back. Speaking about finally meeting his birth mom, Tolliver

“I don’t know how I feel. It’s crazy! I never thought this could happen.”

Reyes’s long-lost boy wept as he realized he finally had the family he wanted since 2014.

Tolliver, Chile’s part of what they call the “The” group, is part of Chile. “Children of Silence,” meaning he was stolen at birth. Neither he, the adoptive nor biological family know the case’s specifics. 

This case is under investigation and the child protection agency of the country is investigating hundreds more.

Although four decades had gone by, it was miraculous that these two found one another and could make up for this lost time. Reyes

“I’m going to hug him every day. I love him so much.”

Many of us learned from the pandemic that it is important to be able and willing to embrace those we love. We can only imagine how it has transformed the relationship between Reyes and Tolliver. 

Reyes can confirm that losing a baby is heartbreaking. Sergeant Steven Garcia knows exactly how that feels.

He discovered later that his wife had lied about him and that their child was still living. She had also given the baby away. The father has chosen to fight to adopt his little boy. 

All individuals go through these traumatic events. Many of these traumatic experiences never heal. But, luckily some get to reunite with their loved ones, reminding us of how important family is.
