Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department pursues suspect in burglary

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is in pursuit of a burglary suspect in the Los Angeles area.

An LASD spokesperson said that the department began the pursuit in Walnut around 5:25 p.m.

Sky5 was seen overhead shortly after 5:30 p.m., as the driver drove along San Gabriel’s surface streets and then onto the westbound 10 Freeway at Alhambra.

The sedan, which was dark in color, made its way through Monterey Park as well as East Los Angeles, weaving in traffic during rush hour.

The driver should then proceed to the Boyle Heights area on the southbound 5 Freeway, then onto the westbound 10 Freeway.

The burglary suspect drove on the surface streets and used a turn lane in order to get around traffic.

According to LASD, there may be multiple suspects in the vehicle.

Sky5 and authorities lost sight of the vehicle at 5:50 p.m., but it was quickly found under the 10 Freeway overpass on San Pedro Street.
