Long Beach Teen Arrest in Connection to a Fatal Shooting

A 16-year old boy is being held in police custody after he was accused of shooting and murdering a Long Beach man on Friday afternoon.

After police responded to a call about a shooting at a house in the 3100 block West Spring Street, an unidentified teen was taken into custody. Around 3:25 PM, police arrived at the scene to find a man trapped in a house with multiple gunshot wounds on his upper and lower bodies.

A ambulance took him to the hospital. He was later declared dead. He’s been iLouis Longeno (dentified), a Maywood resident, was 19 years old.

Police learned that the suspect was at a nearby house during their investigation. Police created a perimeter around this home and called the SWAT team for assistance.

Police discovered that the suspect had not been at the house and was intending to surrender himself to police at the station. Around 6:15 p.m., the 16-year-old surrendered to police at the Police Department’s Public Safety Building at 400 W. Broadway.

He was taken to jail and held there without bail, while awaiting charges for murder.

Long Beach police are currently investigating the incident and will likely file charges next week.
