Lifetime was the first to debut The Bad Seed ReturnsMonday, May 30. They have however postponed the premiere.
This is why.
Why Lifetime Postponement? The Bad Seed Returns?
On Thursday, Mckenna Grace, star of The Bad SeedAnd The Bad Seed ReturnsTo TwitterPlease share this information. Emma, the star of the film, wrote this: “In the wake of the recent tragedy in my home state of Texas, we have decided to delay the release of “The Bad Seed Returns.” @lifetimetv & everyone involved are in agreement. #Uvalde #Buffalo #LagunaWoods.”
Grace also shared two photos. One of them was Uvalde victims. The second included a longer note on this decision.
The same words she used on Twitter started the story. She then wrote more about why she didn’t feel comfortable promoting the movie and why it was necessary to delay it.
I don’t feel comfortable promoting this film this week and we don’t think Monday is the right time to release it.
I was in 1st grade when Sandy Hook happened…and it feels like not much has changed since then. I still remember my parents telling me about emergency plans to go to church or the cinema.
Change something if you have the power. If you have the means, donate to the victim’s families of any of the recent shootings. These tragic events make me sick. If you’re feeling anxious or down, www.jedcares.org will help you. If you’re feeling helpless or lie you want to do something but don’t know where to start, I found every town.org to be really informational.

Mckenna Grace Wrote the Script with Father
Mckenna Grace and her father Ross Burge co-wrote the script. The original Lifetime movie. The Bad SeedThis was a reimagining the “cult 1956 psychological horror film.” This film was based on William March’s bestselling novel and Maxwell Anderson’s stage adaptation.
Rob Lowe directed and starred in the first film, where his father is killed. Emma (Grace), who is now living with Angela in the second movie, is now a widow. She is also in highschool and trying to navigate the many complexities and challenges that teenage life presents.
However, her aunt’s husband is suspicious of Emma. He doesn’t think Emma is as innocent as she seems. A new girl has been added to her high school. Worst of all, she seems to know a lot about Emma’s past secrets.
Emma looks like she has “no choice”She must go back to her former self to fix the problem before it interferes with her fabulous new life.
