Lewis Hamilton has become an NFL owner. The Denver Broncos announced Tuesday that Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One racing star, has joined the team’s ownership group. With over 100 race wins, Lewis is considered the most successful F1 driver of all time. His resilient spirit and standard of excellence will be an asset to the ownership group and the Broncos organization.”

Hamilton shared the news via Twitter. “Excited to join an incredible group of owners and become a part of the [Broncos] story!!”He wrote. “Honoured to work with a world-class team and serve as an example of the value of more diverse leadership across all sports.”Hamilton is the most successful Formula 1 driver. Hamilton has won seven championships, and a record number of races during his career. Hamilton currently sits in sixth place and comes off a second-place finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
In June, a group that included Walton’s daughter Carrie Walton Penner, Greg Penner, and Mellody Hbson, coCEO of Ariel Investments, agreed to purchase the Broncos at $4.65 trillion. The purchase will be approved by the NFL team owners at a meeting in Minneapolis on Aug. 9.
