LAPD: Officer killed in training accident

Three days after he was in an accident during training, a Los Angeles Police Department officer succumbed to his injuries Sunday.

Houston Tipping, an officer who teaches bike riding, was attempting to keep up with another officer during a training exercise at Elysian Park Academy. He fell and injured his back. “suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury,”The LAPD released a press statement.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and the medical staff at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center were unable to save Tipping, but they did so on Sunday.

His parents, Richard & Shirley, and Britney, his girlfriend, survive him.

“True to his character of unending service, Officer Tipping is an organ donor. Over the next few days, his selflessness will save other lives,”The release has been added.

Police will investigate the accident. “identify if any additional measures can be taken to ensure such a tragedy is avoided in the future,”They agreed.

“A bright and uplifting young man with a full life in front of him. Grief, sorrow and sadness. May God Welcome him home & comfort his family, friends & partners,” Chief Michel Moore Tweeted.
