Keanu Reeves will not be playing the next major role on the big screen. It was announced Thursday the 57-year-old actor has landed a new lead role on TV. Reeves will appear in the new Hulu series The White City is the DevilHe will also be the executive producer along with Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, and others. The White City is the DevilIt is based upon the book of the same title, written by Erik Lawson.
The White City is the DevilThis will be the story of Dr. H.H. Holmes, the serial killer-con artist who created Holmes ” Murder Castle”Chicago World’s Fair 1893. The series will also feature Daniel H. Burnham who was an architect and urban planner who helped to build the first skyscrapers. Burham will be played by Reeves, but Dicaprio is unlikely to appear in the series. According to The Hollywood Reporter,An episode count The White City is the DevilIt has not yet been determined.
Reeve’s television credits aren’t as extensive as his work in movies. The 1980s saw the emergence of the John WickStar made a brief appearance in a few TV movies, and in the last TV series. He was seen in Swedish DicksThe web TV series aired 13 episodes from 2016-2018. Reeves was a regular guest on thirteen episodes. Reeves can be seen in the animated film. DC League of Super-PetsHe plays Bruce Wayne/Batman in the film. Reeves will be starring in the highly anticipated film next year. John Wick: Chapter 4.
In an interview with Extra,Reeves discussed the possibility of playing Batman in a live-action film. “It’s always been a…it’s been a dream,” He said, “Personalize!” HypeBeast. “[Robert Pattinson’s] got Batman right now, and he’s doing awesome. Maybe down the road. Maybe when they need an older Batman.”
As the leader in the John Wick Franchise, Reeves played Ted in a reprised role. Bill & Ted Face the Music(2020), and he was back as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections (2021). Interview with EmpireThe veteran actor spoke out about how he had never imagined a fourth Matrix movie.
“I had heard over the years that Warner Bros, who financed and distributed The Matrix trilogy, was considering making another Matrix film, and then I would always go, ‘Well are the Wachowskis involved?’ Reeves stated. “It would then be, “No”, which I would reply, “Well that’s never going happen.” It started to get closer, and I was like, “Hmm… still no gonna happen.” Then it was a year and a half later. I got a text message from Lana Wachowski. She said that she was interested in making another Matrix film. And I was like, “Whaaaat?” Then she replied, “Yes.”
