Jerrod Carmichael comes out as gay in HBO special Rothaniel released one day before comic’s SNL hosting debut

COMEDIAN Jerrod Carmichael, who’s hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, officially came out as gay in a new HBO special.

Rothaniel is the name of the new stand up program. It aired Friday night.


In his HBO special Rothaniel, Jerrod Carmichael made it clear that he was gay.

Jerrod previously released two HBO stand-up specials, with his third now releasing Friday.

The Love at the Store was the first to be launched in 2014.

Directed by Spike Lee, the show was recorded at The Comedy Store – the first place Jerrod ever performed.

His second, 8th, was released on March 11, 2017.
