A chiropractor in Irvine was charged with the sexual assault of seven women patients. Authorities believe that there could be more victims.
Lincoln Esguerra Carillo (60) was taken into custody in Virginia and transferred to Orange County on Monday.
He was later charged with seven counts of felony sex penetration by fraudulent representations for a professional reason, four counts a sexual battery by fraudulent presentation of a professionally purpose and 12 misdemeanor counts touching an intimate part or another person. According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
The defendant worked for Twins Chiropractic in Irvine approximately four years.
Officials said that he treated one patient for chronic neck pain multiple times between April and May 2021. During this time, he allegedly sexually assaulted her. Irvine police received the victim’s report of sexual assaults last May.
Police also identified six additional victims of sexual assault who were treated at Carillo’s Irvine business between January 2021 and August 2021. Officials said that one woman was injured in a car accident and required treatment.
Carillo is thought to be connected to chiropractor offices in Artesia and Los Angeles, Fountain Valley. Seal Beach, Seal Beach, Long Beach. Irvine, Orange. Irvine, Orange. Upland. Cerritos. Costa Mesa. Placentia. Garden Grove. Riverside. Herndon.
“Due to Carillo’s extensive connections throughout Southern California and extending to the east coast, authorities believe there may be additional victims,”Officials stated.

Carillo is being held under $1 million bail. He is due to be arraigned on Friday.
“Vulnerable patients seeking chiropractic treatment for aches and pains should not have to worry about being sexually assaulted,” Orange County DA Todd Spitzer said. “Chiropractors and other medical professionals are trusted by their patients to treat them with the dignity and respect that they deserve. Instead, this individual preyed on their vulnerability and sexually assaulted them.”
