Inside Kevin Costner’s 160-Acre Ranch with Its Own Sledding Hill, 2 Lakes & ‘Field of Dreams’

Kevin Costner is an actor who may have perfected his craft. He has appeared in some of the most prestigious award-winning films like “Field of Dreams” “Yellowstone.”The actor lives off the screens, in the peace and tranquility of his 160-acre Aspen property.

Kevin Costner, unlike many A-list stars who prefer to live in the heart of the city with a view of the endless skyscrapers, chose a different route. He prefers a quiet lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle.

ENTRANCE WAY INTO PROPERTY

The ranch, set on a 160-acre piece of land,  provides a casual and calm environment for “The Bodyguard” actor and his family — wife Christine Baumgartner and their three children, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace.

The property’s entrance features a set of elegant, yet secure front gates. A private drive surrounded by a forest of golden birches leads into the heart of the property.

Green pines make a statement along the banks of the Roaring Fork River that cascades the valley. The pristine property features three separate homes — the main house, a lake house, and a river house, comfortably accommodating 34 people.

The multi-level main house features six bedrooms, with six full and two half bathrooms. The main house also features entertainment and dining areas, living areas, and a chef-style cooking area.

The trap door at the foot end of the bed in the main bedroom is the most attractive feature. You will find a hidden staircase to access the hot tub that overlooks the river or rocky mountains through the floorboards. 

Above the tubA button switches the waterfall on or off in the stonework. The residence has a cabin feel thanks to its exposed brick walls, dark oak ceilings and wooden columns.

The living area is furnished with gray couches that are set around a white stone fireplace. Amy Mottier, Coldwell banker and friend of the family, says that the home exudes warmth and comfort. 

Although the ranch has two smaller houses, the rest of the homes are just as beautiful. The river house can hold six people while the lake house can host up to twelve. 

The river house is the Costner family’s favorite spot on the property. They go there whenever they want to relax. The view from your home is breathtaking.

The vast expanses of the outsideThese views are breathtaking. Away from the property’s stunning view, it also features two lakes that provide year-round watersports activities for family and visitors.

These lakes are ideal for paddling, kayaking, canoeing and fishing for trophy trout. The winter season allows residents to ice-fish. The property also features sledding hills with music and lights for the ultimate winter experiences. 

He is well-known for his important role in “Field of Dreams,” Costner’s love for baseball has seen him feature in at least two more baseball-based movies. He also incorporates his passion for the sport into his Colorado property.

It is not like the baseball field. “Field of Dreams,”He is not surrounded with cornfields. It has stadium lighting and music. This is perfect for families and renters of the property, as they can still play comfortably at night. 

The property is available to rent. It is perfect for special events, corporate retreats, weddings, and other occasions. Costner married his beloved there, as a sign of just how beautiful the tranquil grounds are for weddings. 

FINDING LOVE AND A LOVELY ASPEN FEDDING

Costner met Christine Baumgartner in the ’80s, but at the time, he was still married to his first wife, Cindy Costner. Although they became acquaintances, their sparks grew when they met up again in 1999.

Costner had been long-divorced by Cindy and was actively seeking love. They dated for four consecutive years and decided to try it. After a disagreement over whether they wanted children, they parted ways in 2003.

Baumgartner wanted to have children, but Costner was content with being a father to his four children —three with Cindy and one with ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney. Costner talked to Closer Weekly 2018 Say it:

“Fear kept me from marrying Christine. [She] wanted a child, but I was afraid I couldn’t be an effective father.”

The breakup was short-lived and the couple found their way back together again. Costner stated that he realized one day that he was about lose a woman he loved because of his fears. 

The bride drove a vintage pickup truck in green to get to the ceremony location. After the ceremony, they celebrated with their friends and shared their vows through a stream. 

Their first child, Cayden, was born three years later. Cayden was followed by a second son, Hayes, in May 2007 and a daughter, Grace, in June 2010.

The family now lives on the beautiful Aspen property. Costner, despite his fears, is now fully involved in the family’s life and enjoys being a dad to his seven children. He Says:

 “I have played two roles in my life, one I get paid to do, which is the movies, and the other one is being a father, for which I’ll be rewarded my whole life.”

He loves movies where he can play the hero. Nevertheless, he still believes that the best moments come when he wants to go home and be a father to his children.
