Inmate Slain in California Prison is 3rd Homicide in a Week – Los Angeles

Four felons attacked an inmate at Folsom’s high-security Folsom facility, killing him. It was the third murder this week in a California state prison.

Camilo Banoslopez (22 years old) was shot and killed in Sacramento State Prison Friday after an attack on a recreation area.

The killings follow the murders at Salinas Valley State Prison (Soledad) and Kern Valley State Prison (Delano) on Tuesday. All three murders were committed with homemade weapons.

Officials said that Banoslopez was a juvenile when he was arrested. He was currently serving eight years for robbery, and inflicting great bodily injuries during a gang assault.

According to officials, he was attacked by Albert Calvillo (30), Irvin Rodriguez (36), Osbaldo Velasquez (38), and Jose Avila (39). Each of the four were convicted in gang crimes and served lengthy prison sentences.
