Echo Park Hit-and-Run From 2020 Now Has Person of Interest – Los Angeles

Two years after an alarming incident Echo Park hit-and-runVideo captured a driver dragging two people and fleeing. The Los Angeles Police Department has now identified a suspect.

Two pedestrians died in the accident, Morena Al Carmen Alvarado Lopez, age 58, and Juan Monroy Bahena (71).

Angelique Teresa Chaidez (46 years old) has been identified as a person-of-interest by police and would like to speak with her concerning the crash.


Two years after an alarming hit-and-run incident in Echo Park was caught on video, a driver dragged two pedestrians and fled, the Los Angeles Police Department identified a person of concern.

After crossing Sunset Boulevard northbound, Lopez and Bahena were both struck. This was on February 24, 2020.

According to police, the victims were dragged 50 feet from where they were struck by the bullets.

The vehicle’s driver did not stop to help others or identify himself as required by law.

According to police, Lopez was declared dead on the spot and Bahena succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash a few days later.

Police said that Chaidez had lived in Whittier, Bell and Covina. Police say she also has a warrant to arrest her for an unrelated offense.

Although she has not been identified as a suspect yet, police stated that there is a $50,000 reward if any information leads to a conviction.
