Sheriffs Homicide Bureau detectives are currently investigating a double shooting that took place in South Los Angeles’ unincorporated area. One man was killed and the other was wounded.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on Tuesday at a commercial parking area in the 11400 block Vermont Avenue, near Imperial Highway.
The sheriff’s report said that a man in his 20s died at a hospital. His identity was withheld pending notification to his relatives. A man in his 20s received stable treatment at a hospital.
“Investigators learned the victims were standing in the parking lot of the retail center when a dark colored sedan parked on the west curb line of South Vermont Avenue,”Trina Schrader was the sheriff’s deputy.
“Four male suspects, unknown race, exited the car and walked into the parking lot,” Schrader said. “At least two of the suspects opened fire on the victims before the four suspects ran to and entered the black sedan before speeding away southbound South Vermont Avenue.”
