Delivery Guy Shot and Killed in Stanton While Trying to Help 76-Year-Old Being Attacked – Los Angeles

A 49-year-old pizza delivery man who is believed to have stopped to help a 76-year-old victim being attacked in the street was shot and killed, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday. 

At 7:21 p.m., Stanton deputies responded to the block of Lessue Avenue and located two victims with gunshot wounds in the street. 

Juan Cristalinas from Santa Ana was believed be delivering pizza when the 76-year old stopped to help him.

Cristalinas, along with the older man, were taken to the hospital. Cristalinas was later declared dead by authorities.

Witnesses told deputies that four attackers fled the crime scene. 

Sgt. Todd Hylton stated.

“This is a tragic incident,”Hylton stated. “It appears that the pizza delivery man, Mr. Cristalinas, was trying to be a good Samaritan and lost his life trying to assist another person.”

The gunmen were not described in detail.

Investigators reviewed video surveillance of the area in an effort to uncover clues.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Cristalinas paid with his life,”Hylton stated.
