Brush Fire Burns Near Apartments in Hills Above Universal City – Los Angeles

Monday night, a brushfire near an apartment was put out by fire crews. 

The Coyote Fire was visible above a dog park, and the AVA Apartments complex at Barham Boulevard east of Universal City. It is located between Burbank and 101 Freeway east of Universal City. This is the northern edge to the Hollywood Hills.  

The fire was extinguished by a team of around 100 firefighters from Los Angeles Fire Department, LA County Fire Department. They used water drops and ground crews to do it. 

LAFD stated that the forward progress of this fire was stopped within 75 minutes. 

No injuries were reported. 

Fire crews will remain on scene to further control the fire’s perimeter, fire officials said. 

Investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire.
