After an exhaustive search by dive teams, a body was recovered from an artificial lake in Inglewood.
Los Angeles County Fire Department reports that firefighters were dispatched to the scene shortly after 6 AM. Authorities said that a security camera captured someone jumping into the lake.
A fire-rescue team and a dive crew gathered on the one side of Lake Michigan in front of the stadium. Sonar was used in order to scan the lake looking for any signs of human body.
The Inglewood Police department, which is also assisting with the investigation, announced that a news conference was set for 4 p.m. in order to give more information.
On the former Hollywood Park racetrack site, the mixed-use development has over 20 acres of open and public space. This lake is part the recycled water project at SoFi Stadium. There are 27 recycling water connections at the stadium site. This includes the two decorative lakes, which serve as irrigation reservoirs in the park.
They are approximately 15 feet deep.
