An Apple Valley man was arrested Monday in connection with an April fatal shooting at a Victorville hotel, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced.
Clarence Jones, 32 is believed to have been the gunman responsible for the shooting of Alexander Jackson-Baldwin, at the Green Tree Inn located at 14173 Green Tree Boulevard. Authorities said that Jones was the gunman who shot Alexander Jackson-Baldwin at the Green Tree Inn at 14173 Green Tree Blvd just before 2:05 a.m. April 1. Press release.
Police described Jackson-Baldwin as a transient. He was found near the hotel’s entrance with a gunshot wound. By 2:20 AM that morning, he had been declared dead at the scene.
Jones was arrested and found on Monday “without incident,”According to the SBSD.
According to jail records, Jones was taken into custody at the Green Tree Inn. He is being held in West Valley Detention Center, where he faces a murder conviction.
Jones will appear at Victorville Superior Court Thursday.
