Arraignment Set for Wednesday for West Hills Mother Accused of Killing 3 Kids – Los Angeles

A judge will be arraigning the mother accused in the murder of her three children at their West Hills home Wednesday morning.

Angela Flores, 38 was charged with three counts for murder after her children were found murdered in their West Hills house on Sunday. This tragedy occurred as a Mother’s Day event that rocked the neighborhood.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County coroner’s Office identified the victims as Natalie Flores (12 years old), Kevin Yanez (10 years old), and Nathan Yanez (8 years old).

On Mother’s Day, police responded to a 911 call concerning an assault using a deadly weapon. They went to Victory Boulevard at 22500 Block. Paramedics arrived at the scene to determine that the children had died.

Angela Flores was not the only one arrested. A 16-year old unidentified suspect was also taken into custody in connection with the case.

“During the subsequent investigation, Angela Flores admitted to killing her children with the assistance of the 16-year-old subject,”Monday’s announcement by the LAPD.

The teen is not being identified but it is believed to Flores’s child. He is currently being held in juvenile jail on one count of murder.

Flores is being held in lieu of $6 million bail. Wednesday’s court appearance in this case will be Flores’ first.

On Tuesday night, neighbors visited the West Hills house to leave flowers, notes and other mementos for the children. The visitors included young friends of the children.

The children are asking difficult questions of parents of children who were close friends with the three victims.

“‘Mom, why did she do it?’ and I said, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t have answers,”One parent said so.

Families are also dealing with the Mother’s Day tragedy.

Relatives to the boys killed sent NBC4 a statement through a lawyer, saying “The family is shocked and saddened by this horrific situation, and they ask that everyone respect their privacy.”

The arraignment will take place Wednesday at the Van Nuys branch, Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The LAPD continues to investigate the matter.
