California Highway Patrol officers led a pursuit of two men in connection to armed robberies that took place in Nevada. They were headed from San Bernardino County, California, to downtown Los Angeles Saturday night.
Reports indicate that San Bernardino County CHP Officers began the chase in Barstow shortly after 8 p.m.
Although the suspects were linked to armed robberies at Henderson, Nevada, it was not immediately publicized.
According to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball, the pursuit began in Los Angeles County at 8 p.m., on the westbound 210 Freeway. The suspect vehicle reached speeds of 90 mph, and the men were able to escape the car at 9 p.m., on the southbound 110 Freeway. They were seen running from the northbound to southbound lanes. As the search for a suspect thought to have jumped off a bridge from the freeway, one suspect was captured on video.
Kimball stated that the man was found on the ground with at most one broken ankle. He was taken to hospital. Kimball said that it was not clear if weapons or other stolen property were recovered.
The names of the suspects weren’t immediately available, nor was there a description about the armed robberies.
