Annual Dog Surfing Championships: Pups and owners take to the waves with their pups

Pups and their owners have taken to the sea in the UK’s annual Dog Surfing Championships.

Some competitors dressed up in familiar faces such the Queen and Scooby Doo to make a splash along with their dogs at the Dog Masters 2022.

As they competed for the winning spot at Branksome Dene Chine beach, Poole in Dorset, dogs were seen helping their owners paddleboard.

Elizabeth Wilkinson was one of her competitors. She dressed in the same attire as her nameake and headed for the waves wearing a white dress, grey wig, and crown.

Ms Wilkinson was accompanied by Diogie, her dog. They were seen racing along the beach to the finish.

Another person could be seen using a Scooby Doo onesie to paddle.

A shark fin was also worn by one dog, and it was attached to its life jacket.

Observers took pictures of the race as it was happening.

The contest, now in its fourth year of existence, is an all-day event that features live music and delicious food.
