Police say that Anaheim man shot his boyfriend in his head. He then led police on high-speed chases through multiple counties, which ended up resulting in his car being removed by SWAT teams on Saturday.

Ali Samoodi (51), is accused of shooting a unnamed man he was with in a robbery “dating relationship”According to a Garden Grove Police Department news release, they fled the scene at 2:45 AM in a rented UHaul truck.

The victim was taken to the local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Police followed the vehicle to Menifee where the Menifee Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop.

“The suspect failed to stop and led Menifee Police Department, Riverside County Sheriffs and the California Highway Patrol on a high speed pursuit for approximately 33 miles,”According to the release.

After “multiple traffic collisions”This left the U-Haul “no longer operable,”Samoodi, who was driving near Cedar Avenue and 10 Freeway in Bloomington, stopped his vehicle. However, he refused permission to get out, police said.

“SWAT from the Riverside County Sheriffs responded and took the suspect into custody a short time later. The suspect did not sustain any injuries and was transported back to the Garden Grove Police Department,”According to police

Police stated that Samoodi had been booked into Orange County Jail under a charge for attempted murder. According to jail records, Samoodi was being booked into jail at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.
