After El Monte shooting, two officers raced to the hospital.



After being shot in El Monte on Tuesday night, two police officers were taken to the local hospital.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, it occurred around 5:10 p.m. in the 2300 block Garvey Avenue.

Two officers were taken to the hospital via ambulance. Officials say their current condition is unknown.

Sky5 captured a police presence in the vicinity of an ambulance arriving at USC Medical Center.

A suspect in the shooting was located but that person’s condition is unclear, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department which assisted with the search.

Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances that led to the shooting.

This shooting occurs less than 24 hours following the death of a California Highway Patrol officer who was shot in the head during a traffic stop at Studio City. The suspect in the shooting has been arrested.
