After doctors discovered an ovarian cyst in Sophie Porley, a former Hollyoaks actress, she was rushed to surgery.

29-year-old soap star was trying to freeze her eggs, when doctors made the discovery.

She shared the news with her followers and explained why she was absent from the platform.

She uploaded a photo she took in scrubs while giving the camera a thumbs down. “Thanks for your messages!

“Yesterday, I was MIA because I had an ovarian cyst removed.

“Dm for details.”

She documented her journey to freeze her eggs and even showed how she used a needle to inject herself.

Sophie explained that her doctors had removed the cyst to assist her in the egg freezing process.

She stated: “I got my blood tests and scan back- my hormones are still not completely ideal but they have improved so after chatting to the doctor we decided to give it a try this month and hope for the best!

“It may just mean that we don’t collect as many eggs as they would hope to.

“Something that I didn’t enjoy is injecting myself for the first time. They don’t show you in clinic how to do this. You get sent home with everything you need and a YouTube video. I’m not going to lie, I was sh***ing myself and there were a few tears.”

“I also had an ovarian cyst so they booked me in yesterday to have it removed. It went smoothly, but I was still a bit sleepy due to the sedation.

“Something that I didn’t enjoy is injecting myself for the first time. They don’t show you in clinic how to do this. You get sent home with everything you need and a YouTube video. I’m not going to lie, I was sh***ing myself and there were a few tears.”

Sophie also acknowledged that she found the whole process frustrating. “isolating” “overwhelming”.

She stated: “They do this all day everyday so I’m sure it’s just another day to them. Whereas it’s overwhelming and new for me,” Sophie wrote.

“But I’m two days in to doing my own injections and it’s already easier and It really didn’t hurt, it was more the thought of it.

“Now I’ll be visiting the clinic every day for blood tests to determine how much medication I should inject each day. Every other day I get a scan. So it’s quite intense.”
