Adrian Kempe’s Overtime Winner Gives LA Kings 3-2 Series Lead Against Oilers – Los Angeles

 Adrian Kempe scored 1:12 into overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 5-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night for a 3-2 lead in the first-round playoff series.

Kempe managed to get past his defender and wrapped his shot around Edmonton goalie Mike Smith, to win the game.

This means that the Oilers will need to win Game 6 in Los Angeles this Thursday in order to avoid elimination.

Kempe scored in regulation and also had an assist. Troy Stecher, Andreas Anthansiou, and Phillip Danault all scored.

Edmonton was represented by Leon Draisaitl, who scored twice. Connor McDavid scored a goal and had two assists, while Zack Kassian scored a goal for Edmonton. The Oilers were coming off a 4-0 loss to Game 4 on Sunday.

Jonathan Quick saved 24 shots for the Kings. Smith stopped 38 out of 43 shots.
