According to lawyer, Uvalde teacher had not propped the door open for shooter entry to school.

According to her lawyer, the Texas teacher who has not been identified recalls “pulling the door shut” while calling 911 to report hearing shots.

Last week, Robb Elementary School, Uvalde Texas was the site of an unimaginable tragedy

Her lawyer said that a teacher who was at the Texas school massacre closed the door that the shooter later used.

An official of the police stated that Salvador Ramos, the gunman, had entered Robb Elementary School through an unlocked door and shot dead 19 children as well as two teachers.

Don Flanary, Don Flanary’s lawyer, stated that the teacher closed the door when he realized that there was a gunman on the loose. According to Flanary, the teacher called 911 to report an accident at school that involved a black truck. Ramos was the driver.

“She saw the wreck,” Mr Flanary said, as reported by the San Antonio Express-News.

“She ran back inside to get her phone to report the accident. She came back out while on the phone with 911. The men at the funeral home yelled, ‘He has a gun!’ She saw him jump the fence, and he had a gun, so she ran back inside.

“She kicked the rock away when she went back in. She remembers pulling the door closed while telling 911 that he was shooting. She thought the door would lock because that door is always supposed to be locked.”

Steve McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, had previously said that Ramos fired shots from an assault-style rifle at several of the school’s windows and entered the building through an open door.

McCraw said that the door “wasn’t supposed to be propped open, it was supposed to be locked. And certainly the teacher that went back for her cellphone propped it open again. So that was an access point that the subject used”.

Flanary stated that his client’s memory of the events matches McCraw’s timeline, but insisted the teacher didn’t leave the door open. Flanary said that the teacher recalls pulling on and holding the door while he was talking to the police.

According to a law enforcement source, the investigation was confirmed by audio and surveillance footage from the scene.

“She slammed it shut,” the source said.
