He replied on Twitter, writing, “We finished shooting the Holiday Special this week (out this Christmas). We finish shooting Vol 3 in about a week (out in May ).”

Gunn confirmed that the special is part the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon. Gunn said the story is set between “Thor: Love and Thunder,”Set for release July 8th “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
