A 6-Month-Old Mom is thrown out of her home by her twins. She must also watch their sleep on car mats.

Being pregnant with twins is often a joyous moment in a  mom’s life, but it is terrifying for a single mother facing eviction. Strangers intervened and changed Rosana’s life after she was forced from her home. 

Rosana Sastrami, a mother of a 13-year old boy, worked as a property manager at Vallejo Mobile Home Community in California.

She was also a twin mom and was still going through daily life. Due to high-risk pregnancy, doctors put her on bedrest a few months prior to delivery. 

ROSANA RECEIVES EVENT NOTICE

Rosana can still perform some of her duties in her role as property manager but she isn’t able to fulfill all her responsibilities. 

Rosana was served with an eviction order one day. Rosana received free housing from her employers so she was served with an eviction notice ClaimShe was being expelled for performing substandard work. 

Unfortunately, the moratorium issued by the government had many exceptions, one of which applied to Rosana’s situation.

ROSANA’S SITUATION WORSENS DURING THE PANDEMIC

During the early months of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic was wreaking havoc throughout the world, and the U.S government provided some relief to its most vulnerable citizens. 

One form of relief the government provided was a moratorium to prevent people from being evicted.

Rosana had just given birth to her twin boys and worked hard to heal and keep her home. Rosana filed a lawsuit against her employer for wrongfully terminating her employment and evicting her out of her home, but unfortunately, she lost the suit.

Unfortunately, the government’s moratorium had many exceptions. Rosana was one of them. Unfortunately, Rosana was forced from her home in July 2020. Her twins were just six months old. 

Rosana was getting unemployment payments but not enough to secure housing for her and her children. Rosana was denied housing and spent her money in hotels. Rosana was in dire straits. She :

 “I couldn’t find a job, I couldn’t secure child care, I couldn’t secure nothing.”

Rosana was unable to live in her home and began living with her three children. Rosana uploaded a picture of her twins asleep on the floor of her car one evening. “I was so mad! I was mad at their dad, I was mad at my family, I was mad at myself,” Rosana Reflect.

Soon after she posted the image, her twins were found sleeping in her car. A stranger saw the post and suggested she visit a shelter in Sacramento. 

Shelter rules forbid her 13-year-old boy from living there. So he moved to Oakland to live with him father. 

ROSANA TRYES CLING TO HOPE

Rosana tried to hold on to hope but it was not easy. “Sometimes I pray, and I’m just like ‘please don’t let this be my breaking day, please don’t let me.’ These types of situations people go crazy in but thank God I got my mind still [sic],”She .

To get some financial assistance, Rosana created a GoFundMe fundraiser. “Any contribution will help and will be a blessing to me during this hard time. I will be using the funds to find a permanent home and necessities to live,”She Write in her plea for help. 

ROSANA’S LIFE IS TRANSFORMED b STRANGERS

Rosana’s crowdfunding campaign became a viral sensation after a news agency covered her struggles. Instead of her $4000 goal, Rosana received $118,000 from hundreds strangers. 

Rosana had her hopes and dreams exceeded when she was able to purchase a house for herself and her three children. “I just got the keys to our new home. I’m so excited to share [this] with everyone. It’s been a crazy road, but I am excited.” Rosana Write on her GoFundMe page.
