Two people were killed Saturday morning in a car crash in La Mirada.
The accident occurred at 7:55 AM near the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue & Beach Boulevard.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators said the vehicle, believed to be a gray 2008 Chrysler 300, was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Rosecrans when it crashed into a fire hydrant and a power pole.
Video of the scene shows tire tracks leading to the stopping spot for the sedan. It was then torn to pieces with debris scattered all around the road.
According to LASD, both the passenger and the driver were killed on the spot. Although their identities are not known, authorities say that the driver was a man while the passenger was a woman in her twenties.
The two were thrown fromThe car, and it’s not clear if they were wearing seatbelts, according to LASD.
“It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the collision,” the LASD has been added to iA news release.
